TGIF everyone and happy February!
I couldn't resist linking up for Friday's Fancies today as the topic is Hit the Slopes! I've definitely spent a fair amount of time skiing since moving to Tahoe last year, and in turn I've also been exposed to the style that comes with living in a ski town. Fashion here tends to be very casual as being comfy after a day on the mountain is key. I've actually grown to love this more relaxed style and definitely embrace the fact that wearing a cute beanie and and warm snow boots out to dinner is totally acceptable around here on a Saturday night!
The outfit below is something I'd wear on the weekends here in Tahoe as it fits the mountain aesthetic, but it's still very me. I'm a big fan of the fair isle legging trend that's been so popular this winter, and I actually have a pair very similar to the ones below that I purchased on our trip to Israel (random to buy snowflake leggings in the Middle East!) that I wear all the time. I definitely still adhere to the 'leggings are not pants rule' though and so I typically pair my leggings with an oversized sweater or tunic, but this long Northface sweatshirt would be perfect to wear after a day on the slopes. Pair that with some cozy socks, heavy duty snow boots (I have this style of Sorels pictured below, along with these and love them both!), and a cute beanie (I have a similar style to the one below that I got on sale after Christmas at Gap, but it's sold out online) and I'd be ready to go! Of course I can't forget my favorite winter lip color (I'll be sharing my winter beauty essentials next week by the way!) and I think these adorable Kate Spade earrings I've had my eye on for awhile would add the perfect pop of color without being too over the top (hint hint Cameron!).
While I want my clothes to be cozy after skiing, when it comes to outerwear I'm definitely not afraid of color! While my ski jacket/snow pants are black, my other cold weather gear tends to be a little brighter. I recently got this Marmot down jacket in turquoise (it's really similar to the one pictured below, except it has neon green accents) and it's absolutely perfect for the cold dry weather out in Tahoe. I usually wear one of my scarves that I've accumulated from traveling, but I love this bright pink infinity scarf. And how fun are these Kate Spade mittens? (I also love this design and would totally buy them if I lived in NYC)

Everywhere I turn I'm being taunted & teased by those fair isle leggings...they're saying "buy me, I'm cozy, I'll love you long time." (atleast this is what I hear them saying in my head.)
